I really like my friend and she has a boyfriend that doesnt apreciate her. What would you do?

Ok So we have dated in the past and have decided for know to remain friends first. I really enjoy this women with my whole heart she motivates inspires and gives me hope. So she just met this guy about a month ago and they got rather serious quick. while we were still talking about dating and furthering our own relationship. I feel like this women really likes me a lot but she puts me on the back burner for what's his face and im left to console her when the SOB treats her like a BF shouldn't treat his women. I really just wanna clobber the schmuck. Anyway am i living in a fools paradise setting my self up for heartbreak? When i talk to her she seems to be torn between going out with me again and dumping him. I am not known for burning bridges or rushing the process. I really think she is good for me but maybe someone could shed some knowledge on my scenario as i have never been in a situation quite like this. Thank you for reading.
