"rat vacation" yes or no?

My family is going on vacation this weekend and I most likely am staying behind, because quite frankly I don't like any of them at all. They aren't nice people. I was hoping to take one of my rats home, because they live at my boyfriend's house because my mom has this unfounded belief that my male rats will get in the walls through my vent that's on the /ceiling/ and have babies. I would take one of them here, and I wouldn't have to worry about one being lonely at my boyfriend's house because there are three rats total and two would stay there. The one that would be here, i would play with him constantly and he would sleep/be kept in a rat carrier, it's not that big but he loves to be in it and it's got plenty of room for his little baby self. He would mostly be out anyways. Do you think this is a good idea for me to bond with my rat and get to be with him more, or should I just leave him with his friends?
