Car starting problem?

I have a 2001 Toyota Corolla S. I made a CD to listen to and after making it i turned my car on (not all the way) but just enough for the radio, lights, wipers, etc to work. It worked and I turned my car all the way off. When I turned it off I heard a strange sound kinda like something motorized was moving inside the car. I then got curious and I tried to start the car and when I tried it didn't work, all that happened was a few clicks and the car wouldn't start at all.. it sounds like its trying to start and it cant. I tried starting it 10 minutes later and it did the same thing. PLEASE HELP =(
