How can i start a subculture and get people to join.?

I'm wondering how the hippies spread i thought it was cuz of veitnam , it probably was , however the punks came from almost nothing really ,except maybe the economy, idk but if our era has a subculture i guessed it'd be scenesters or skater punks what some people call them. I no i sounds stupid but if you could show me i'd appretiate thanks.......... how about your own sujjestions
