Under HIPAA, can patients get their psychotherapy notes?

Patients are allowed access to everything in their chart, and that include notes. The only thing patients can't have are things sent over from other offices. You will have to sign a release form stating that you want to have a copy of your records, and I am not sure if your dr will charge you, but if your doctor does, it is normally $5 to copy it and $1 per page for a 25 page minimum. it's $.50 a page after that.
