Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky?

Is it possible to join someone on an adventure? I keep dying trying to kill Primal Dialga, i'm a level 55 Phanphy and my team-mate is a level 54 Squirtle. I haven't been able to kill it for a long time, so could someone help me?
