I lost my overseas title to my car how can i get another one?

i was stationed in germany where i bought a car.. i had my car shipped back and somehow i have misplaced the title.. i know the dmv can usually replace it if the car was stateside.. but can they still if the car is coming from overseas with a U.S/German title?? thanks in advance
