How do the prices compare to online discount places like Orbitz?
Consider that when booking with travel sites such as orbitz, travelocity, and priceline. You are paying full retail and a booking fee, usually 10 -20 per ticket. Using Amex travel agency could possibly save you some money as they might get better deals. If you check the prices on a travel site to the actual hotel or airline sight, the prices are the same. No discount usually. This is merely a gimmick. I would however reccomend a site called Itasoftware.com. You cant actually buy from the site but it allows you to search a weekend, monthlong or any specified time period and gives you all the prices of all airlines on each day, thus showing you the cheapest days and periods to travel. It is one of those hidden gem sites, a diamond in the rough if you will. Check it out and let me know how you liked it. I will include the link also. When you get to the homepage click on search airfares using qpx, then click on guest. The neat think is that this program gets its prices directly from the airfare index that airlines publish to.
