Do we care anymore that technology is getting better but we as people are getting dumber?

Even though People back in ancient times like the Greeks, Egyptians, Sumerians, and Mayans were superstitiousus, they where very brilliant. For the most part, they understood the stars, nature and other things that people nowadays don't care about. We take joy in our IPods and other electronics that damages our thinking. I mean come on, most people can't even do math without a calculator. Most people don’t even want to walk and exercise because we have cars. Most people don’t want to eat right even though science says we should. We are so dependent on things that we are not dependent on ourselves. What in the hell is going on here? They did it back then.
